Matt Seattle
researching, reviving, renewing the Border piping tradition
IMG_8953.JPG

"IT REALLY DOES SEEM, WHEN ONE HEARS HIS PLAYING, THAT THE TWO LOOSE ENDS OF A PIPING TRADITION HAVE BEEN PICKED UP AND TIED TOGETHER AGAIN SO THAT THEY ARE AN UNBROKEN THREAD ONCE MORE."
WILLIAM MARSHALL, BAGPIPE SOCIETY

Matt Seattle (PKA - Dragonfly Music) has been a musician for over 50 years, playing pipes for more than half of that time. His focus on the Border piping tradition has gained him respect within the traditional music world, and having lived in Northumberland before moving to the Scottish Borders in 1998, his playing is grounded in the vibrant musical traditions flourishing on both sides of the Tweed.

Matt Seattle Band

Formed in 2008, The Matt Seattle Band released “Reivers of the Heart” in 2010. Our second album with new member Morag Brown and guest singer Jackie McGuckian is well underway.
